Noble Efforts Change Lives Be Noble

The Noble Way

Noble Street’s success in all areas is demonstrating to the field and the public the power of school culture. Noble’s culture creates an optimal learning environment and instills in students life habits for success. All elements of Noble Street strengthen at least one of the three tenets of the school’s culture, which appear on the school crest.

Noble Street teachers, advisors, coaches and staff incorporate these values into everything they do. These elements are key to the culture:

  • A strict, merit-based discipline code helps students become thoughtful and respectful adults and ensures that the learning environment is safe and rarely disrupted. Students earn merits for actions that better the school and demerits for failing to follow the rules.  Uniforms are required.
  • Student Greeters are responsible for welcoming visitors to the classroom and answering any questions. As Greeters, students develop confidence in interacting with adults. All students are greeters many times during each academic year.
  • Town Halls are bi-weekly assemblies during which students showcase their achievements to their peers and community members.  They include presentations made by academic classes and advisories, art and music performances and recognition for athletes, and underline Noble Street’s focus on academic achievement.
  • Community Service: All students are required to complete at least 40 hours of community service to graduate.  Students become civically conscious and develop cooperation and leadership skills through service.
  • Relentless focus on college pervades academic classes, assemblies, field trips, etc on all Noble campuses and unites students and teachers behind a common, collective goal.
  • The Advisory System provides students and families a uniquely strong support system including one teacher and a group of same-gender peers who stay together all four years, meeting at least daily. Advisors are the first point of contact with parents and are students’ main advocates and providers of advice.
